Refresh, Release, Restart, Renew

Refresh:

One promise I am making to myself this new year is not to be a new me but to see and approach everything with a new,refreshed, positive perspective. I choose to tell myself no matter what I may be feeling / what is going on, everything will turn out better than I could imagine. To encourage myself to find the good and the beauty out of every situation. Because everything is perception, and if we want it to be and choose it to be, everything can be beautiful; we can be excited to wake up, to start the day, and be equipped to take on any challenge we are faced with by choosing to view it through a positive lens. A healthy mind encompasses emotional, psychological, and social well-being, impacting our thoughts, feelings, and actions. It collaborates with our bodies, shaping how we manage stress, engage with others, and make decisions!

2023 was a fantastic year, and I am beyond grateful for it, but during it, I allowed myself to live in a lot of fear, which then made me feel a lot of anxiety.YES, we are lash artists, BUT we are real people riding this crazy roller coaster called life.

So what if we all go into 2024 with this refreshed perspective, and our year turns out better than we could imagine? 

Release:

In 2023, I felt stress, whether it was coming from personal or career-related things. I let it consume my mind and heart. As a result, when doing that, it never made me feel better. I realized that it is a choice to allow my mind to think these things and start being “self-disciplined,” not with working out or eating better, but with my mind. I had to implement a refreshed perspective torelease this feeling of stress and anxiety. I want to live a life where no matter what circumstance I am in, I can make the most of it, see the best in it, and not let it negatively control me. Here are some wise words from Lashbox LA co-founder Sylwia Walus: “Let go of those fears—focus on your dreams.” Because the truth is miracles start to happen when we give as much energy to our dreams as we do our fears.

Restart: 

So let’s say I wake up having a rough morning, I am overthinking “how” I am going to do something, or I start feeling stress and anxiety. What I have started doing, on top of having a positive mindset/ perception, and what I have found helpful, is being as present as possible in the current moment in front of me, utilizing my five senses, and focusing on the feeling in front of me. Whether it be smelling a candle, doing breathwork, feeling a soft blanket, or looking at the beautiful day even if it's raining or shining. Focus on the good so that I can think about the fantastic support I have in my life or how lucky I am to have a roof over my head. Then, I follow it by giving immense gratitude for where I am and for even being able to wake up and do everything I get to do. How amazing is it that we get to adhere tiny hairs on someone's eye, make them feel amazing/ uplift them, and do it as our job?! 

Renew: 

Let's renew into the new year with a letter for 2024. 

Dear 2024, thank you. Thank you because I know this year will be full of the most amazing memories, experiences, and people. I am excited for you and all the things that are to come. I am eager to see what beautiful possibilities are in store with a new perspective and give myself the ability to make the best of anything. Everything in this new year brings me where I need to be. This year, I chose myself. I choose self-discipline. I choose consistency. I choose calm. I choose joy. I choose abundance. I choose self-care. I choose time management. I choose open-mindedness. I choose fun. I choose laughs. I choose growth. I choose health. I choose love. I choose harmony. I choose forgiveness.
